GIRLS PUBERTY PROGRAM FOR SPECIAL LEARNERS
This health education event is designed for moms (grandmothers, aunts, female guardians, etc) and female students living with Autism, Down Syndrome, learning disabilities and developmental delays. Our program creates an open environment to learn about puberty and the natural changes that occur during adolescence.
Subject matter includes stages of human development, hygiene, the major events of puberty and reproductive system basics. All topics are discussed in a simple way with a comforting atmosphere, led by an exceptionally qualified Byrnes Health Education Center health educator. Our approach to the topic of puberty reduces conversation barriers and creates a positive learning and growth experience for both adult and child.
